Dermabrasion
Dermabrasion is a technique reserved for the deepest wrinkles, usually around the mouth. In my experience certain patients benefit from peri oral dermabrasion. This technique employs a rapidly spinning wheel that planes the surface of the skin, removing the epidermis into the layer of the dermis allowing the skin to regenerate collagen. Healing takes approximately 10 days, and the most common side effect is prolonged redness. This is reserved for deep lines around the mouth. Dermabrasion is often used around the mouth in conjunction with full face laser resurfacing.
